Creo que Trent escribió esta canción durante la grabación y escritura de Pretty Hate Machine. Originalmente, esto tampoco estaba destinado a estar en el álbum, pero algo le sucedió a Trent durante el viaje a donde sea (no recuerdo dónde fue) mientras grababa el álbum, lo que inspiró su creación.
Se había tomado un descanso para ir a un club (si no recuerdo mal), y allí conoció por casualidad a una de sus ex novias. Se encontraron, hablaron mucho y Trent se encontró sintiendo cosas por ella nuevamente. Solo para terminar diciendo (por otra persona) que ya estaba con alguien. Pero durante su encuentro, ella había actuado como si estuviera completamente interesada en él. Sin decir una palabra sobre el "otro tipo".
Después de eso, escribió esta canción.
Trent realmente habló un poco sobre eso, durante una entrevista hace mucho tiempo. Nunca dijo exactamente que esa es exactamente la razón por la que se hizo esta canción... pero habló sobre la situación anterior, y realmente encaja perfectamente con la canción.
Creo que de eso se trataba.
