La banda la ha llegado a describir como "un poco charlatana". Darion Malakian, guitarrista de la banda, describe el tema con las siguientes palabras: "Esta canción trata sobre cómo cuando la gente muere, serán recordados de manera diferente dependiendo de cómo se han ido. Por ejemplo, si yo fuera a morir de una sobredosis, todo el mundo diría que me lo merecía porque abusé de las drogas, de ahí la frase de 'angels deserve to die'".
